What’s With the New Theme?
Visited 505 Times Published by Rico September 12th, 2006 in Blogging and What. Here’s the deal: I have no problem with my old theme (Barthelme); I just found it a little too simplistic for my needs.
So don’t be surprised if my blog seems schizophrenic over the next few days. I’m gonna try out more Web 2.0-ish themes, like Origami, Bharath’s K2 Revision, or even plaintxtBlog. And I’ll be modding any of these themes to better suit my taste. Hopefully, none of you will see any broken layouts or stuff like that.
And thanks TechZ for liking the Origami theme. ![]()

Im a big fan of the K2 series, especially Bharath’s 3 column implementation, I forsee that to be my next theme
I have to say you’ve done a great job of picking a theme for your site, 10/10 for choice!
Thanks again Techz.
I’m curious about your current theme. Did you make it from scratch, or did you mod an existing one?
WOW - I’ve never actually seen the Origami theme before. It’s gorgeous ^_^
I love how the visited links in your sidebar have little ticks on them … and you finally got a favicon. Kudos.
Well, the favicon’s actually part of the theme, so I guess Kudos goes to the designer, hehe.
I wish though I could set which items are ticked, instead of just letting it be random.
am in the process of reskinning origami..=)
Naks, will we see another World of Warcraft theme from you?
Rico, I use the Connections Reloaded v1.2 theme by Ajay D’Souza, although its now updated to v1.5, he’s working on Connections Revolutions, so I’ll wait for that
This is the perfect time to practice your xhtml/css skills! Start with a basic document with simple markup and style your way through it.
I plan to. Yvonne’s helped me out by showing how to change the header of this theme (3 Column K2). I think I’ll mess around with these simple themes, especially this one.
^ Comment 666! D:
Don’t go with the plain, minimalist theme, it doesn’t fit your blog Rico! I still really liked the Barthelme theme.
Haha, how lucky I be,
I promise, as my CSS/PHP skills improve, I will OWN this blog!
For comment 666 to be me!
I found Barthelme a bit limited in terms of what I could do with it, and I now know why people love 3-column layouts.
Trust me, CSS and PHP is easy as time goes on. Validating it and making it look good in IE, however, is an entirely different matter D:
Yeah… *sigh* the boys from Washington state looks like they missed a great oppurtunity to fix things with Explorer 7.

Oh well… more reason to stick with Firefox!
For some reason, K2/3column based blogs load faster for me in IE, no jokes. I tried it out on numerous K2/3column based blogs, its the same everytime…
Well, IE will always load faster than any other browser, since its part of the frickin’ OS. That’s why a lot of people still use it, despite its problems with security and presenting stuff.
