What Happened When I Was Ten?
Visited 444 Times Published by Rico January 25th, 2007 in Rico's Ramblings, What and Writing. When I was ten, I found out why writing was for me.
Up until then, I depended on drawings to plan out things. Especially for my favorite schoolyard games!
Yet when I tried sketching out a dozen teammates’ (and enemies’) moves one day, I ended up with a messy drawing. That’s when I decided to strategize exclusively through writing. Listing down everyone’s objectives was a lot neater. The words apparently made sense to everyone.
Not surprisingly, things didn’t turn out as planned. It’s hard for a bunch of kids to remember what, how, and when to do things. Especially in the heat of the moment! We did win that game though!
It felt easier to express myself through writing. I continued drawing of course, dabbling a bit in technical drawing. But I started writing more frequently. And I realized it wasn’t hard to fill up a page or two.

…then you made 3D models of them?
