What Should You Call Me?

Hi, I’m Rico. Born Enrique Vicente Mossesgeld sometime in 1981. You can call me many things. Such as blogger, geek, freelancer, writer, designer, and even blog network founder. Nicknames like “Mambo” or “Suave” are off limits.

Where do I Blog?

I’ve been blogging since May 2006. I satisfy my insatiable curiosity through Fool for Five, asking and answering (or not) questions both profound and innane. The geek in me writes for The Smart PDA, where you can get your daily dose of information about smartphones and PDAs. Whatever I learn or find out from my freelance career as a writer and designer, it usually ends up on Contract Worker.

I also co-founded The Bayanihan Blog Network because the online world deserves to hear the Filipino voice. We’re a network of eight nine twelve blogs (and counting) proudly written by Filipinos. The Philippines and its people have a lot to offer, in more ways than you might think, and I believe the BBN is a great way to showcase this.

My experiences and education translate into two skills that are all about getting your message across.

Writing. To quote a cliche: “the pen is mightier than the sword.” Powerful writing is effective, because it catches the reader’s attention and never lets go until they’ve heard what you’ve had to say. I work with select clients and publications to create gripping sales copy, informative articles or essays, and interesting stories. Take a look at some of my writings.

Design. Like writing, the point of design is to communicate something. Great design always attracts its target audience and has a clear message, and fulfills its purpose. Using my experience in the advertising and marketing industries, as well as my proficiency in industry-standard programs like Photoshop, I can create interesting designs that let people know what you want to convey.
