Why Can’t Commission Junction and Clickbooth Support PayPal Payouts?
Published by Rico May 3rd, 2008 in Why.Lately, I’ve been trying out affiliate marketing, to see if it’s really a viable source of passive income. Right now I have an account with Commission Junction (CJ), which surprisingly provides affiliate campaigns for Filipinos. It’s just too bad that they don’t offer PayPal payments to Philippine publishers.
Enter the Clickbooth Advertising Network. According to Wikipedia it has a similar business model to CJ: Cost-Per-Action advertising.
CPA only rewards online publishers for generating actual transactions, instead of the usual cost-per-click model used by programs like Google AdSense. The trend I’ve noticed is that advertisers are willing to pay more for CPA campaigns, since their money is spent to create new income-producing business, instead of just visibility.
Signing up for Clickbooth was just as easy as singing up for CJ. But it seems Clickbooth is a little more careful about who they accept. Their automated registration system actually called up the phone number I provided to give me the four-digit PIN I needed to proceed.
Right now I’m waiting for my application to be approved (I was told to wait for 72 hours). I’ll be sharing more info about the service if and when I get an account (like if their affiliate programs actually have a chance of generating income for local publishers).
For now though, I’m wondering why it seems that Clickbooth also doesn’t support PayPal payments. PayPal would’ve helped me avoid check fraud, and make sure that any future earnings from Clickbooth won’t literally fall into the wrong hands.
